American Board Trackers 08 American Board Tracker Harley / a new vintage designed motorcycle to ride in today’s world. By award winning designer Dan Hanebrink www.american-board-trackers.com You might want to ask “what is a Board Tracker motorcycle” and what do you do with it”? We see this as an artistic re-creation of the hot blooded track racing machines of the early 1910s to the roaring ‘20s. These alcohol burning 1000cc V-twins ran on 1.25 mile long oval board tracks (planks of wood placed side by side) with 60 degree banking. Lap speeds were in the range of 116 mph average. These were also road racing machines. Indian Motorcycle Company swept 1st 2nd and 3rd at the “ISLE of MAN” road race course near Great Britain in 1911 with their Board Track motorcycles. Our bikes are designed to be ridden. A forward engine location, tilted slightly, with elevated transmission, provides great weight distribution with awesome lean angle. Seat, handlebar and foot controls are located to provide a relaxed “normal” riding position. The emphasis is on enjoyable, accurate handling, with aggressive riding an option. American Board Trackers offers: Complete Motorcycles, Rolling Chassis, Frames, Forks, and Parts for Vintage Retrofits. Go to www.american-board-trackers.com for list and pricing. Evolution: In 1971 “Cycle News” publisher Chuck Clayton asked Dan Hanebrink to sketch a futuristic machine of the eighties for a front page Christmas issue of the paper. From this sketch Hanebrink developed his ideas and the result, two years later, was the Monotrack Experimental. This design accounted for a large number of first in motorcycle engineering (American Racer 1940-1980 by Stephen Wright). In 2004 Dan built Monocoque Frame and Fork featured in American Rider Oct.05. In 2005 Dan built new vintage board tracker frames and forks and sold them as a kit. One of Dan’s customers, Rick Krust of Santa Ana, assembled one of our chassis with a Harley motor and took 10th at the 2005 world championship of custom bike building. In 2007 Hanebrink developed American Board Trackers, www.american-board-trackers.com , and built the 08 American Board Tracker Harley. Special Features: The frame was drawn and formed with an elliptical bender, specially designed by Dan for our frames (No heat treating), American Board Tracker: Front suspension forks, floating cantilever seat, adjustable handlebars with built in break reservoir, floating front end suspension, custom primary drive, custom exhaust system, Brembo brakes and levers. |
